Overview
This Clinical Practice Standards Policy describes how clinical care is delivered through the Ody Health platform in partnership with Ola Digital Health and independent pharmacies and laboratories. It covers the care delivery model, clinical workflow, provider qualifications, scope of care, lab testing, pharmacy fulfillment, follow-up care, and clinical quality standards.
Ody Health is a technology and administrative platform. All clinical services are provided by independent licensed physicians and other licensed providers affiliated with Ola Digital Health. Ody Health does not practice medicine, prescribe medication, dispense medication, or make clinical decisions. All clinical decisions are made by independent licensed providers in accordance with their medical judgment, applicable state and federal law, and the standards of their profession.
Provider qualifications and credentialing
Clinical care through Ody Health is provided by independent licensed physicians and other licensed healthcare providers affiliated with Ola Digital Health. Ola Digital Health is responsible for the credentialing, supervision, and quality oversight of its provider network.
All providers in the Ola Digital Health network are:
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state where the patient is located
• In good standing with applicable state medical boards
• Credentialed and verified by Ola Digital Health prior to providing care
• DEA-registered where required to prescribe controlled substances
• Covered by professional liability insurance
• Subject to Ola Digital Health’s ongoing quality standards and compliance requirements
Provider credentialing records are maintained by Ola Digital Health. Ody Health requires Ola Digital Health to verify and maintain these standards as part of the partnership agreement between the two companies.
Scope of care
Ody Health supports access to care in the areas of longevity, wellness, and hormone optimization, including protocols related to testosterone replacement therapy, peptide therapies, NAD supplementation, hormonal health, and related wellness and longevity services.
Ody Health is not designed to provide or coordinate emergency medical care, primary care, urgent care, mental health care, specialist care outside the scope of longevity and wellness, care for acute illness or injury, or care for conditions requiring in-person evaluation.
Providers affiliated with Ola Digital Health may determine that a patient’s condition or needs fall outside the scope of care available through Ody Health. In such cases, the provider will communicate this to the patient and may recommend that the patient seek care from an appropriate in-person or specialist provider. Ody Health and Ola Digital Health are not responsible for arranging alternative care outside the platform.
Care delivery model
Care through Ody Health is delivered through an asynchronous telehealth model supported by an AI-assisted intake and physician review workflow. The care delivery process follows these stages:
1. Patient intake: The patient completes a structured intake form providing health history, current symptoms, measurements, and relevant clinical information. The intake form is designed to capture the information a provider needs to conduct a clinical evaluation.
2. AI-assisted clinical assessment: De-identified intake information is processed by an AI recommendation engine that generates a preliminary clinical assessment for physician review. Personal identifiers are removed before processing in accordance with HIPAA Safe Harbor de-identification standards (45 CFR § 164.514(b)(2)). The AI assessment is advisory only and does not constitute a clinical decision.
3. Physician review and clinical evaluation: An independent licensed physician affiliated with Ola Digital Health reviews the AI-generated assessment alongside the patient’s full intake information and makes an independent clinical determination. The physician exercises sole clinical judgment and is not bound by the AI assessment. The physician may request additional information, order lab tests, recommend in-person evaluation, or decline to prescribe if clinically appropriate.
4. Clinical decision: The physician makes one of the following determinations: (a) issue a prescription and treatment protocol; (b) order laboratory testing before making a treatment decision; (c) request additional clinical information from the patient; (d) recommend in-person evaluation or specialist consultation; or (e) decline to prescribe or provide clinical services.
5. Prescription and pharmacy fulfillment: If a prescription is issued, it is transmitted to an independent licensed pharmacy for dispensing and direct shipment to the patient. The pharmacy validates the prescription, prepares the medication, and ships it to the patient’s registered address. For full details, see the Prescription Validation and Handling Policy at odyhealth.co/prescription-handling.
6. Ongoing care and follow-up: Patients receiving ongoing protocols receive periodic clinical check-ins and follow-up evaluations to assess response to treatment, address concerns, and adjust protocols as clinically appropriate. See the Follow-Up Care section below for details.
Clinical eligibility
Clinical eligibility for services through Ody Health is determined solely by the independent licensed physician based on the patient’s medical history, current health status, lab results where applicable, contraindications, and applicable clinical guidelines. Ody Health does not determine or influence clinical eligibility decisions.
Patients must meet all of the following baseline requirements to access clinical services through Ody Health:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be located in the United States
• Provide accurate and complete medical intake information
• Complete identity verification as required by Ody Health
• Not have a condition that requires immediate emergency care
Meeting these baseline requirements does not guarantee that a provider will determine clinical eligibility for any specific protocol, medication, or treatment. Providers may impose additional eligibility criteria based on clinical judgment and applicable law, including but not limited to age ranges, body measurements, lab values, contraindicated conditions, and concurrent medications.
Patients are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and current medical information. Providing false or incomplete information may result in clinical decisions based on inaccurate data, which creates a direct risk to patient health. Providers may rescind prescriptions or discontinue care if inaccurate information is discovered.
Laboratory testing
Laboratory testing may be ordered by an independent licensed provider before initiating a treatment protocol, as part of ongoing care monitoring, or at any point where the provider determines lab results are clinically necessary to make an informed treatment decision.
Laboratory testing is provided by independent laboratory partners. Lab availability may vary by state, clinical eligibility, location, and vendor requirements. The ordering provider determines which tests are clinically appropriate.
Lab results are reviewed by the ordering provider or another qualified licensed provider. The provider interprets lab results in the context of the patient’s full clinical picture and uses them to inform treatment decisions. Ody Health may display lab results within the patient-facing platform for the patient’s reference, but the display of lab results by Ody Health does not constitute clinical interpretation or medical advice.
Patients should not use lab results displayed through Ody Health to self-diagnose or self-treat. Any questions about lab results should be directed to the treating provider through the platform.
Pharmacy fulfillment and medication standards
Prescriptions issued by independent providers are fulfilled by independent licensed pharmacies. Pharmacies are responsible for validating prescriptions, verifying patient identity, checking for contraindications, preparing medications, providing appropriate labeling and instructions, and shipping medications directly to patients.
Some protocols may involve compounded medications. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies in accordance with applicable state and federal pharmacy law. Ody Health does not compound, possess, dispense, or ship medications. For full details about compounded medications, see the Compliance Policy at odyhealth.co/compliance.
Medication availability, formulation, concentration, and shipping timing may vary by pharmacy, state, and clinical circumstances. Ody Health assists with administrative coordination and order status communications but does not control pharmacy operations, dispensing decisions, or shipping carrier performance. For full details, see the Prescription Validation and Handling Policy at odyhealth.co/prescription-handling.
Follow-up care and ongoing monitoring
Ongoing clinical care through Ody Health includes periodic check-ins and follow-up evaluations conducted by independent licensed providers. The frequency and nature of follow-up care is determined by the treating provider based on the patient’s protocol, clinical response, and individual health needs.
Patients participating in ongoing protocols are responsible for:
• Responding to provider check-in requests through the platform in a timely manner
• Reporting any side effects, unexpected symptoms, or concerns to the provider or through the Ody Health support channels
• Completing any required lab testing as requested by the provider
• Keeping contact, shipping, and health information current and accurate
• Notifying the provider of any changes in health status, new medications, or new diagnoses
A provider may modify, suspend, or discontinue a treatment protocol at any time based on clinical judgment, patient response, new health information, or changes in applicable law. Ody Health may also suspend services if a patient does not respond to required check-ins or if required lab testing is not completed.
Ongoing clinical care through Ody Health does not replace a patient’s primary care relationship. Patients are encouraged to maintain a relationship with a primary care provider and to inform their primary care provider of any treatments or medications obtained through Ody Health.
Referral to in-person care
A provider may determine at any point that in-person evaluation is necessary and that telehealth is not appropriate for the patient’s current needs. Circumstances that may result in a recommendation for in-person care include:
• Symptoms or conditions that require physical examination
• Concerns about the patient’s health that cannot be adequately assessed remotely
• Lab results or health indicators that require urgent in-person follow-up
• The patient’s clinical condition falling outside the scope of care available through Ody Health
• The provider’s determination that telehealth is not the appropriate care modality for the patient’s situation
If a provider recommends in-person care, the patient should follow that recommendation. Ody Health and Ola Digital Health are not responsible for arranging, coordinating, or paying for in-person care outside the platform.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency at any time, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or have thoughts of suicide, call 988 or 911 immediately.
Clinical documentation and records
Independent providers maintain clinical records in accordance with applicable state and federal law, medical board requirements, and their own professional obligations. Ody Health maintains records of intake information, AI-generated assessments, clinical determinations communicated through the platform, prescription transmissions, lab results, and patient communications for operational and compliance purposes.
Clinical records maintained by independent providers are the records of those providers and are subject to their own privacy practices and retention obligations. Patients may request access to their clinical records directly from the treating provider or from Ola Digital Health.
Information maintained by Ody Health is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices available at odyhealth.co/privacy and odyhealth.co/hipaa.
Clinical quality standards
Ody Health partners with Ola Digital Health under a partnership agreement that includes service quality standards, provider qualifications, response time commitments, compliance requirements, and incident reporting obligations. Ola Digital Health is responsible for the clinical quality of its provider network, including credentialing, oversight, and quality review of its physicians.
Ody Health monitors the quality of clinical services through review of patient complaints and safety reports, coordination with Ola Digital Health on adverse event reporting, and periodic review of service delivery performance. Where quality concerns are identified, Ody Health escalates those concerns to Ola Digital Health for clinical investigation and response.
