FREQUENTLY ASKED
The questions most people ask first.
Thirty-eight answers, organized by category. If yours isn’t here, the contact line at the bottom of this page reaches our care team within two business days.
Getting started.
The intake is twelve questions and takes about four minutes. It collects your goals, your current health context, and the symptoms you want to address. A licensed physician on the OpenLoop network reviews your responses alongside your baseline panel before any protocol is recommended.
Most members move from intake to a confirmed protocol in five to seven days, including time for at-home or in-clinic bloodwork. The intake itself takes about four minutes.
You receive a lab requisition by email and book bloodwork at a Quest, Labcorp, or Rupa-affiliated draw site near you. Once results are in, your physician reviews everything and proposes a protocol. You approve the protocol before any compounding pharmacy ships.
No. The intake assessment and baseline labs give your physician everything they need. If your bloodwork doesn’t support a protocol, we tell you that — and we don’t charge for the panel.
Yes. Ody works with licensed physicians in all 50 states through the OpenLoop network. Your protocol is prescribed by a physician licensed in your state of residence; if you move mid-cycle, we re-route you to a physician in the new state.
About two weeks on average. Four minutes for the intake; one to three days to schedule bloodwork; results back within 48–72 hours; physician review within two business days; first shipment dispatched within three business days of approval.
Protocols.
Your protocol is matched against your goals, your intake responses, and the specific markers in your baseline panel. The physician reviews the match before signing — the algorithm is a starting point, not the final word.
Most people notice meaningful improvement in energy and sleep within six to ten weeks. If your bloodwork hasn’t moved by month three, we adjust the protocol — or refund the unused portion of your subscription.
Yes. Most members reassess at the three-month follow-up, and a meaningful number switch or layer protocols at that point. A switch is reviewed by your physician before any new prescription is issued.
Yes. You can pause for up to ninety days from your account dashboard, no questions asked. Beyond ninety days, your physician will want to redo basic bloodwork before resuming.
Normal isn’t the same as optimal, and the physician reads your panel against age-stratified ranges, not population-wide averages. If your numbers genuinely don’t support a protocol, we tell you that and refund the assessment fee.
Doses are titrated to your numbers and your symptoms, not a fixed prescription. Starting dose is conservative; the three-month follow-up is the most important review point, and most adjustments happen there.
Pricing & billing.
Your monthly fee includes the compounded medication, physician review, follow-up bloodwork at month three, and unlimited messaging with your care team. The baseline panel is billed once at the start, separately, at $149.
Ody is a cash-pay membership. We don’t bill insurance, which means no prior authorizations, no referrals, and no surprises in pricing. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Yes. Most members pay with HSA or FSA. The membership and bloodwork are eligible categories under most plan rules. We provide an itemized receipt at the end of every billing cycle for substantiation.
If your bloodwork doesn’t support a protocol, the assessment is refunded in full. If you cancel within fourteen days of a shipment, the unused portion of that month is refunded. Beyond that, we don’t refund prior shipments — but you can pause or cancel any future month.
Quarterly billing is offered on protocols where the compounded medication has a multi-month stability window. The price per month is roughly 8 percent lower on the quarterly cadence; the clinical care is identical.
You keep what’s already shipped. Future shipments stop immediately. If you cancel within fourteen days of the most recent shipment, we refund the unused portion of that month — otherwise, billing stops at the next cycle.
Yes. There’s no annual contract. Cancel from your account in two clicks; we’ll refund the unused portion of your current month if you cancel within the first fourteen days of a shipment.
Shipping.
Monthly. Discreet packaging, climate-controlled where required, signature on delivery for compounded medications. You can pause or skip any month from your account.
Compounded medications ship in tamper-evident, climate-controlled packaging with cold-chain indicators where required. The outside of the box is unbranded and lists no medication name. The packing slip lives inside.
Yes for any compounded medication classified as injectable or temperature-sensitive. Oral protocols and supplements ship without signature. The default carrier is UPS; FedEx is available on request.
Yes, from your account dashboard, up to seventy-two hours before the scheduled ship date. We support redirects within the prescribing physician’s licensed state. International redirects are not supported.
A missed signature triggers a hold-at-facility for five business days, after which the shipment returns to the pharmacy. Re-shipment is free the first time and billed at carrier cost the second time within twelve months.
Standard delivery is two-to-four business days. Overnight is available for a flat fee on request from your account, subject to pharmacy cutoff times. Cold-chain shipments may be limited by carrier in some regions.
Privacy & compliance.
Ody works with licensed physicians in all 50 states through the OpenLoop network. Your protocol is prescribed by a physician licensed in your state of residence. Compounding pharmacies are USP-797 compliant and fulfill state-by-state.
Yes. Protected health information is handled under HIPAA throughout the platform — intake, lab results, physician messaging, and pharmacy fulfillment. All audit logs and breach-notification protocols apply.
No third-party sale of any kind. Data shared with the prescribing physician, the lab, and the dispensing pharmacy is the minimum required to deliver care. Marketing analytics use anonymized, aggregated data only.
Your physician sees your full intake, your bloodwork, any prior protocol history with Ody, and any messages you’ve sent. They do not see your billing or marketing-analytics data.
Yes. From your account dashboard, you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Clinical records are retained per state medical-record retention rules (typically seven to ten years) but are no longer linked to a marketing identity.
Lab results are retained as part of your medical record per the same state retention rules above. You can download your full lab history as a PDF or HL7 file from your account at any time.
Medical & clinical.
Board-certified physicians on the OpenLoop Health network. They review your bloodwork, your intake, and your goals before prescribing. Ody is the platform — physicians prescribe.
All prescribers are MDs or DOs, board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, endocrinology, or urology. Each is licensed in your state of residence; you can request your physician’s NPI on request.
Hormones (total and free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol), the metabolic panel (glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin), the lipid panel, inflammatory markers (hs-CRP, homocysteine), and vitamin D. The full panel is detailed on the Science page.
Mandatory follow-up bloodwork at month three, included in the membership. Optional follow-up at month six on request. Annual full-panel re-screen on every protocol. Messaging with your care team is unlimited in between.
Side-effect profiles vary by protocol and are reviewed in your initial physician note. Most members experience injection-site reactions or mild headaches in the first two weeks. Significant symptoms — chest pain, vision changes, swelling — are an immediate physician message and a same-day call-back.
For any new symptom you’d normally call your primary-care doctor about, message your physician through the platform. Response time is one business day; urgent symptoms get a same-day call. The platform is not a substitute for emergency care — call 911 for emergencies.
Yes. Your full prescription history, the prescribing physician, and the dispensing pharmacy are in your account. You can download a clinician-shareable PDF for your primary-care doctor at any time.
